Can I add AppleCare + to a HomePod I bought from storefront resseller on the apple site?

i managed to register for AppleCare by strangely clicking it as an iPod touch as HomePod wasn’t listed. When I stuck in the serial number for HomePod hay presto I was able to cover it. Thanx for reply

"Purchase AppleCare+ with your new HomePod. Or buy it within 60 days of your HomePod purchase:

Online (requires you to verify your serial number and run a remote diagnostic)
At an Apple Store (inspection of HomePod and proof of purchase are required)
By calling (800) 275-2273 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)
