Apple Watch Hardware

My first series Apple Watch hasn’t worked since the last update a week ago. It has a red ! On the screen.

This sounds like a failed update has corrupted the watch software. Check the advice in If you see a red "!" on your Apple Watch - Apple Support but I predict a visit to the Genius Bar in your future.

Try charging it for an hour and then resetting it by pressing in the crown and side button until you see the Apple logo, then release both. I am assuming you updated your iPhone first.
