Music pausing/disconnecting Bluetooth control on Screen Wake

This is as much an explanation as it is a question, as the real question I have is when will Apple will get around to fixing this. Regardless, the issue I'm having (and it looks like a pretty common problem) is that due to some bizarre bug, my audio pauses itself whenever the screen wakes, whether from Raise to Wake, notifications, or other background programs taking control of the phone. In addition to this, when the audio pauses it sometimes disconnects my Bluetooth headphones in such a way that they still receive audio from the phone, but are unable to send inputs to start the music again, etc. (This is a more specific issue, and may not be relevant to everyone, but hopefully it is useful info for those who are trying to fix this bug.)

Needless to say, this is a very annoying problem to have, and makes listening to music almost impossible, especially with Raise to Wake enabled. My only solution is to leave it disabled, and to enable Do Not Disturb and Low Power Mode to block as many notifications and processes as possible. (I am not certain Low Power Mode is necessary, but it may help in some circumstances.) Even this does not block everything, but it's at least a decent band-aid solution to make listening to music possible again, albeit at the cost of most of the standby functionality of your phone.

From what I can tell, this bug affects not only the iPhone 7, but all phones compatible with iOS 11, and may have existed even back then, though this started happening to me personally after a recent iOS 12 update. I have the current latest iOS version (12.3.1) and would estimate I've had this problem for at least a month. I have tried everything regarding my music, headphones, etc. and have determined everything is functional, and the system bug does seem to be the only culprit.

I would love to know if there's anything else I can do to alleviate the symptoms, and i'm curious if anyone has actually figured out why this glitch happens and what can be done to fix it.
