What will resetting the SMC do? I’ve watch many MacBook Pro reviews before purchasing mine and all of them have stated that their MacBook heats up. You should check what’s using up your ram (could use CleanMyMac) and check your CPU which can be accessed through Activity Monitor in Applications
@Tfashan, please do not advise anyone to use a cleaning app on a Mac especially CleanMyMac which most regulars on these forums consider a form of malware. Your other suggestions are worthwhile to check out.
That was from my personal experience, but yes like I said, find a way to view your CPU and free it up.
