Updating won't work

What do I do when my laptop literally won't update? Every time I try to update it, it either requests a timeout or just plain out stops updating. I've been trying to update my laptop for the past 4 days, help?

First of all check to make sure your Mac has enough free space, ideally a Mac should have at least 15-20GBs free space for correct function. If you can use a cabled connection between your Mac and your router, this should make for quicker downloads and a more robust connection, whilst the Mac is downloading do not use it for anything else and try and minimise the amount of other devices that are using your internet connection also.

What updates are you trying to install, if the are updates to macOS Mojave you can download them manually from here,

Apple - Support - Downloads once they have downloaded, double- click to install.
