The original answer to how to I find my email password was: go to the email providers web site and change the password. I have a @Mac.com email address, so my question is: "How do I find Apples email web site?"

Your email password and whether for Mac.com, Me.com, or iCloud.com email addresses is the password of the associated Apple ID.

If you don’t remember your Apple ID password you can use the available reset sequence.
