Apple Watch not counting calories

I just got the Apple Watch and it literally logs zero active calories for the day. My job is pretty sedentary but I cycle to work and back (a good 45 mins each way) plus run/walk 5k each day. I start the workout on my phone and it shows up on my activity app- just not as active calories. I mean, is everyone that achieves active calorie burn super fit or am i doing something wrong?

Make sure your iPhone and Watch have the latest updates. Next, reset your watch by pressing in the crown and side button until you see the Apple logo, then release both. If that doesn't help....call Apple Support....https://www.apple.com/contact/

See if this helps.....

Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch. Go to your rings, then firmly press the screen. Tap to increase or decrease the number of active calories for your daily Move goal. When you're done, tap Update. If you still have a problem, call Apple Support.
