I finally solved solved this problem, but all previous posts with this question were closed with no real answer. I'm using the free Pandora in Chrome on a MacBook Pro with Mojave.
I turned off popup blockers for just the Pandora website and it no longer stops playing after every song.

I haven't run into that problem, yet, but I don't use Chrome.
One thing I've found with playing it in a browser (Safari in my case), is you often have to refresh the page to make it play correctly.
If you stop playing and leave the page open, it gets stale, but trying to play again doesn't seem to refresh anything and it just hangs. Reloading the page makes it all work again.
