is there a way to bypass the activation lock? i have recently bought a storage unit at auction from storage treasures and had gotten an iPad mini out of it. i have no way of contacting the owner due to the faculty's policy not giving out the previous owners information for the protection of the buyer.

The only person who can unlock the iPad is the previous owner. If you can't contact them and have them remove the device from their account, the iPad is useless.
Not in this case. It's an anti-theft measure; the iPad may have been lost or stolen before being put into the unit.

The name on there was the same as the persons info in the unit. I had bought the unit which would make me the new owner. What could I do?
