Using Sony ext DVD player DRX-800UL
Can I use this device with a MacBook Air?
If so, where can I get the driver software?

Thank you for your response. I do have a firewire. I have the power light on on the ext HD but I can't get its front door to open so that I can play the DVD. I read that iTunes doesn't play DVDs and it doesn't. I've tried VLC unsuccessfully. I remember back in about 2005 when I bought the device I used Nero software to burn DVDs.
When you write that I probably don't need a driver, how would you play/stop/eject a DVD?
Any advice on how to proceed? Thanks again
