Text box for messages appearing on the bottom left of my home messages screen

Does anyone else have a text box for messages appearing on the bottom left of your home messages screen? It comes and goes randomly. It doesn’t effect anything negatively per se, but it’s odd and doesn’t seem like it should be happening on iOS 12.3.1.

If you restored the phone to a backup made before you attempted the beta after downgrading from the beta, it is more than likely something in your backup that came back with the restore. If the problem returns enough to where it bothers you, you may have to restore the phone to factory, set it up as new, not using a backup and then downloading content again. That will, however, make you lose some content that cannot be restored without using a backup, such as text message history, game progress, etc.

It is not unusual for occasional hiccups in software that are not bugs, but an errant save at some point. But they will just return if you create a backup while the problem exists and restore a wiped phone from that backup. Good luck.

Thank you for the suggestion. Hopefully it won’t pop up again, though I won’t know right away because it only happens randomly. I believe it is a software rather than hardware issue. I updated to the iOS 13 public beta, and the problem went away. But I found that the 13 beta contained more problematic issues than just an odd text box appearing, so I reverted. When I went back to iOS 12, the text box thing started happening again.
