Hi i am Carson I had the Apple Watch series 3 a year now and it is great I just have a question, if I don’t put my Apple Watch on water mode will it still be water proof or does the water mode have to been on.

The Water Lock should activate automatically when the watch detects splashing on the screen, but you can turn it on manually if you wish. It simply locks the screen and doesn’t change the physical water resistance of the hardware.
The watch is water resistant , not water proof. As for your question, the watch automatically detects the presence of water and the water resistant feature is turned on.
Okay do I have to turn the water mode on everytime before it gets wet?
