Itune card and Apple grant

I was enticed by a person that used the picture of a friend of mine and led to believe that Apple is giving grant of a $100,000. They asked me to buy 5 itune card with $100 denomination, and I did. As we go along the next step was they are asking me to get a Fraud Release which will cost me $1,000, so I stopped, because first of all I didn't have the money secondly, I have that feeling that I was being scammed. My question is, can I recover the money if I give you the 5 cards that I bought? I need that for my auto insurance and my husband is blaming me for wasting $500. Thank you.
