find my iPhone

I've placed time and app restrictions on my child's phone only to find they have circumvented the restrictions. My child has admitted that he uses "Find My Phone" to erase and then sign back into the phone. Is there any way to prevent him from using Find My Phone while still being able to know the location of the device from my phone?

You can delete the app. I assume you have downloads from the app store blocked. The Find my iPhone app is not needed for Find my iPhone to work. And there's always my first suggestion. Get him a basic flip phone for emergencies.

I'm in possession of the phone when he gets home. The passcode is set by me and the touch ID is my fingerprint. But if I sign in to let him check a text, for example, the temptation to erase the phone from Find My Phone is present. So, I still need to know how to restrict that app, if possible.
