My running distance on the Apple Watch is so much different than the treadmill

How come my running distance on the Apple Watch is so much different than the treadmill? It’s almost a half mile difference

Apple Watch Series 3 - Outdoor Run Hi! I have a Apple Watch series 3. Recently when I go out for a run with my friends, I noticed that my km is always short than that of my friends. My running pace also seem to be faster than the others, and when I upload my run to the strava app, it seems that my distance I ran was correct in the first place. It seems that my Apple Watch distance measure lags when I am busy with the outdoor run activity. What should I do if I want my watch to measure the distance accurately again? Please help!

Apple Watch showing KM and health app showing miles My Apple Watch series SE activity app is showing my distance in km while the activity app on my phone is showing my distance in miles. How can I get my watch to show the distance in miles. I’ve read about doing it in the health app and followed these instructions and this shows correctly as miles as do the settings in my watch settings as these are set to miles yet any workouts are in KM?

Are you swinging your arms when you run or holding on to the bars. It can only calculate the distance with an estimation of your stride and arm motion.
