Suspicious email or genuine action required??

Hey everyone, I received an email today stating that

‘Your membership has expired so your Apple ID will be temporarily locked’

Screenshot attached. Can anyone shed any light on this or is it a scam?

It's a really bad idea to post your email address, even in an image - it's an invitation to spam and a security risk - and I've asked the Hosts to remove it.

This is most unlikely to be genuine: real emails from Apple will address you by name. if you hover over the link to 'update your details' (do not follow it) you will find it isn't an Apple URL.

It is phishing. Apple does not notify if ID is locked. In a message Apple will always address you by your real name, never by your email address or Dear Customer. Also the sent-from address should be @apple.com or @itunes.com Additionally Apple does not send attachments.

I believe that the only thing this email is associated with is the Apple Developer Program, of which you have to pay to be apart of.

If you are not apart of that, you can ignore it, as it is probably a phishing attempt.

However, if you still have suspicion that it is real, you should go ahead and update your profile through the settings app on iphone.
