image capture subfolder

Hi all, thanks in advance.

I use image capture, and when I go to import the selected photos, it automatically creates a folder (without my permission) within a folder than i have created.

how can I prevent this from happening please?

Hi clairemissy,

Thanks for the post. I understand you have a question about a folder being created in Image Capture.

It sounds like you may want to double-check your import settings. To do this, open Image Capture with your device connected, and then click your device name in the left column. Then, look for the "Import To" drop-down menu at the bottom. There, make sure you've selected the correct folder for importing, and also that the "Make subfolders per camera" option is unchecked.

I hope this helps! This has more Image Capture information for your reference: Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac

Take care.

Thank you for helping me out! It solved the issue I was having, but it brings up another issue. For any file I select in image capture, image capture stores three times the files that I have selected, seemingly, the individual photo selected would come with a video? For example, if I select two pictures in image capture, and place it in the chosen folder, it would create 4 files, a video per photo or something like that? Never happened to me before. Did it to you?
