Disk Available

Hi all

I was using MacBook Pro 2017 nTB with 256 ssd and High Sierra 10.13.4

Today I found something weird with the disk available in this OS.

Example ssd has 12 GB available and I have copy single 2 GB file from download folder to desktop or other folder and after copied the available still 12 GB. I was using copy and not cut and paste.

It was normal when I copy file from external hdd or flash disk to Macbook Pro. The disk available will reduced.

Is it High Sierra bug ?

The Download and Desktop folders are both on the same SSD. You simply "moved" a file. You did not "copy" a file from one drive to another.

No it is not a problem as Kappy has pointed out. What might be a problem is you seem to be running your Mac with little free space. The rule of thumb is to keep the free space on. your Mac between 15-20GBs this is because your Mac is continually moving and writing files whether or not you are doing anything, so it needs space to do this, housekeeping.

Do not listen to MacPaw, their software often corrupts the Macs system files.
