Technical assistance

You cannot get past the activation lock without the help of the person who set it up. If you cannot contact them, then the iPad is useless to you. Return it for a refund if possible.

You will never be able to use this iPad. Activation Lock can only be removed by whoever put the lock on the device. It's an anti-theft deterrent system, and it works. Apple will NOT help you. We CANNOT help you.

Your options are as follows:

1. Find the person who put the lock on the device (virtually impossible if you don't know them and can't reach them)
2. Return the device for refund
3. Recycle the device responsibly
4. Use the device as a paperweight

That's all you can do.
