How do I use an Apple gift card to pay for iCloud storage?

If it's and iTunes or App Store card just redeem it onto the relevant account, how items are paid-for is automatic, the payments for your storage should use the account's balance. If it's an Apple Store gift card it can only be used in Apple's shops and their online store.
