can use itunes gift card

it’s telling me that i need to redeem my code for my itunes gift card to get money in a game but a threw away the card as soon as i cashed it in in april? i see 15 dollars in the account and i know i got a 20 dollar gift card so it has been used before. it’s still says i have money there. what can i do?
