Cannot Reinstall Clean Copy Of Garageband Hello, I was having some trouble with my GarageBand as it had said when I opened it that "Core MIDI was not available" and I believe this was causing my issue where I could not hear any audio when I attempted to use a virtual instrument keyboard. Because I could not find a clear answer on the web, I decided to move the GarageBand application to the trash and attempt to reinstall it off the App Store. Unfortunately, when I go to my purchased section on my App Store there is a notification that wants me to update GarageBand, not install it. When I search it up on the search bar and find the page, it still only gives me the option to update it, not install it. And when I click on the update, it just refreshes back to another button that says update. I have researched online and cannot find an answer to my problem so I was hoping this community can provide me with some insight so I can use GarageBand again. Thank you in advance.

Garageband and audio midi setup not recognising midi controller I can run Midi Monitor and it sees that I have plugged in a midi controller - (Akai MPK mini) but when I run the audio midi setup app in Utilities, or I run Garageband it says there are zero midi devices to use? I cannot now get Garageband to recognise the Akai controller. It used to work ok.

Same issue happened to me after my MacBook Pro upgraded to macOS 10.14.5. When I launch GarageBand, an error pops up stating that there is an error with CoreMIDI. I am trying to edit a podcast and need to import an mp3 file but it wont allow me. I've tried resetting MIDI devices in the GarageBand preferences menu as well as re-launching GarageBand and neither work.

What midi? Did you contact the manufacturer?
