Why are iOS apps still refreshing in the background when I disabled their background?

Hello.

In my very old iPhone 4S' iOS v9.3.5's battery usage still shows a few

iOS apps still refreshing in the background when I have disabled their

background? I even disabled ALL of the background apps. I have been

noticing more and more apps like this for years. :(

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

It is still not clear what you mean by "running" iOS doesn't "run" apps in the background. Even when background app refresh is turned on, all it does is refresh the app's data, then it returns to suspended state. If you mean music app and getting notifications, then you can try to turn those off to help with it.

Also, for that age of a device, I would highly recommend going into Settings->General->Accessibility and enable "Reduce Transparency" as well as "Reduce Motion"
