Can I transfer word files from window to a mac

Sure.

There are several ways:

1. upload them to a cloud service and download them to your Mac
2. email them to yourself.
3. put then on a portable drive and connect the drive to your Mac
4. Once on your Mac open the files with an app that opens Word files. (MS Word, LibreOffice, Pages) are some app examples that will open Word files.

FYI, iOS does not run on a Mac.
