my younger cousins were playing on my phone is there anyway to recover deleted emails?

Then probably the mail has been moved or Archived and not deleted.
If you can share with the email Account I can provide more info, However look at the GIF below on Archive and Deletion process
- Try a thorough search on all the folders
- Try looking at the Archive Folder.
Doing the search through web browser is lot easier.
