Frozen iPhone

I had the same issue as Trudy with my iPhone freezing and not responding when pressing and holding the home and side button. I did the suggestion and pressed the side and volume buttons and that worked. It automatically tried to load diagnostics, but then got stuck in there. I did the process again and was able to get to my home screen. Is there a larger issue I should be worried about? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
