Ethernet

Apple TV wont connect to internet over ethernet just wifi. I have tried different ports and different cables, even tried connecting without wifi router. I wont pic up anything

I have done a lot of troubleshooting including, changing the cables, cleaning the ports, restart, reset to factory settings and have played with the router settings but nothing works. Apple TV 3rd generation wifi connectivity My Apple TV 3rd Gen does not show any wifi menu or option to connect wifi in General -> Settings -> Network. It only shown Ethernet connection, & once the ethernet cable is connected it does not connect to internet either. The ethernet wire & connections are all working otherwise. What is the solution?

apple tv won't connect to wifi without ethernet I purchased a second-hand restored Apple TV (Gen 3) from a reputable seller and I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. I made sure it isn't my WiFi that's the issue and I've tried every solution I could find online (resetting, changing time zone, etc). Finally I discovered the only solution was to connect my Apple TV to my router using an ethernet cable, but this is only a temporary solution since the router is in the kitchen and I need the TV in a different room. When I unplug the cable the internet goes away again. It's very frustrating. Any solutions?

It may be an issue with the hardware, it is 9 years old after all. Unfortunately that model is classified as obsolete so it is no longer supported/serviced by Apple

When it comes to ethernet, be certain you are using a strait-through cable, and not a crossover one.
