Flagged Emails
Why do previously flagged emails stay in the Flagged inbox?
MacBook Air 11", macOS 10.14
Try using Mail>Mailbox>Rebuild.

The emails have been unflagged, I have shut down Mail, rebooted, open mail, and they are still sitting there without flags.

Remove the flag and the messages will no longer appear in the "Flagged inbox."
