Apple Watch turn by turn not working

I have an Apple Watch series 3, and when I have used Apple Maps in the past with this watch the watch had to display to turn by turn directions and alerted me when I needed to make a turn However, now when I use it it has stopped doing that and will only show an overview of all of the stops and a map that tells me to proceed to the route even if I am on the route. The directions and location show correctly on my iPhone but How do I get the turn by turn to work and have the alerts on my watch again? I restarted my watch and made sure the turn alerts were set to on in the Apple Watch app.

I suggest you try restarting both your watch and your phone with a forced reset (not just the simple power off and on again which sometimes saves some unwanted settings). For the watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side Button (together, about 10 seconds) until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons and let it reboot.

Your iPhone is slightly more difficult because the forced reset method varies for different models. Pick the correct version from If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support
