pairing Apple Watch

Started the pairing using my iPhone, it downloaded the OS and went to "Preparing..." and hung up. Now I want to wipe the Apple Watch clean and start the pairing again. I followed the instructions that Apple has at www.apple.com/support/watch, but the watch and phone will not respond. Thanks for you help.
