VLC app on on Macbook Pro

The VLC on my MacbookPro is not functioning. When I try to open it, it immediately shuts down and asks if I want to send an error report.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Make sure that you have the most recent version.

Restart your computer, and try again.
