Why Does iMessage Suddenly Not Recognize A Frequently Used Number

What can I do when iMessage or Messages suddenly stops recognizing one of my contacts and won't allow me to text them. This has happened a couple of times in the last month.

Can anyone tell us what is going on and how to get the app working properly again?

That is fantastic information, unfortunately it does not seem to address the problem of the system not recognizing a frequently used phone number.

Im worried 😟.
