How can you tell which IPOD TOUCH you have and which IPOD did APPLE stop supporting?

1st gen: max. iOS 3.1.3
2nd gen: max. iOS 4.2.1
3rd gen: max. iOS 5.1.1
4th gen: max. iOS 6.1.6
5th gen: max. iOS 9.3.5
6th & 7th gen: iOS 12.3.1 (6th gen will not get iOS 13 when it's released this fall)
If you cannot update past iOS 9.3.5, you have a 5th generation iPod
