Pair of Sonos One (2nd gen) as external speakers for iMac using AirPlay 2?

Can you pair Sonos One (second gen) as L + R external stereo speakers for iMac (all audio, not just streaming content), using AirPlay 2? Apple Support page states that only one speaker can be connected at a time.

If not possible, how about connecting a pair of HomePods?

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

Hello,

I am not familiar with Sonos One although I am familiar how Apple Home handles AirPlay 2 audio destinations. For instance with HomePod in Apple Home you can pair a set of HomePods as a stereo pair. When that happens HomeKit handles the stereo pair of HomePods as one playback destination. Depending if Sonos One has the ability to create a pair of speakers you may be able to emulate that kind of functionality.

Once the HomePods are paired in Apple Home they will appear as one playback destination so when you go to System Preferences -> Sounds -> Output you will see the newly created HomePod pair as one playback destination. Once the HomePod pair is selected for output then all Macintosh sounds will playback in stereo to the two HomePods.
