Glitching videos in iMovie
When I import videos into iMovie that I have taken on my iPhone they glitch with a grey screen randomly. How do I stop them from glitching?

Update to current version iMovie 10.1.12 and Mojave 10.14.5 and see if that helps.
What format are the videos? Sometimes the HEVC format can cause some issues in earlier versions of High Sierra. If that might be your situation you can try using the free download, Handbrake, to convert them to Mp4/AAC that Handbrake will do by default. You can get Handbrake here:
Even if the videos are not in HEVC format, it might not hurt to convert them anyway. Sometimes that clears out format issues. Work with duplicates so you preserve your original videos.
Another thing that you can try is to open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if the issue is resolved.
If still no luck, try placing your media into a newly created project and see if that cures it.
