clicking one email to delete, and next one deletes before I even read it

Anyone have a fix? My Mac Air, on OS Sierra, has suddenly started deleting more than one email at a time. I click one, and the next one goes as well.

sorry, that didn't work. Not only does it sometimes delete the next email, sometimes the email disappeared (today, when I was checking results) WHILE I was reading. I had to go to Firefox to open my icloud and check email. It works fine there. Must be Safari issue

Hi there, dls1107!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you’re having an issue when deleting an email the Mail app, the next one is being deleted as well. I would start by checking out this article to Adjust double-click and scrolling speed of your mouse or trackpad to test if a slower clicking speed would help with this issue.

If it doesn’t help and you are still seeing the issue, I recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow to Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, test to see if you have the same issue.

Let me know the results and have a wonderful day!

Did it work in the Safe Mode? Have you tried using another admin account to test?

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin
