Sorting photos by date on PC

Why can't I figure this out? It seems it should be easy. I want to sort photos I downloaded from iCloud by date. How do I do this????

I had this same problem but finally worked it out.

In File Explorer in Windows, i was viewing my icloud download folder on the right hand side of the pane instead of opening up in a new window. Once i opened the new window, all the usual sorting options in File Explorer were there.
