Can't activate a credit card on Apple Watch

Got a new credit card from my bank. Activated fine on my iPhone, and seemed to download to my Apple Watch as well (when asked). But, on the Apple Watch app, it says that the card is "activating" and I can't use it. Called my bank, and we tried multiple times to delete and reactivate, to no avail. They suggested that I call Apple. Uh-huh, sure. Anyway, I eventually added the card manually (instead of letting the Apple Watch app suggest one of the cards that's already on my phone), and that seemed to do the trick! You just need to say, "Add a different card", and set it up separately on the Apple Watch. Voila! It works! Don't need an answer from anyone, just figured anyone who had the same problem might be able to short cut all the calls...
