weird keyboard malfunction

I have an early 2011 MacBook pro which suffers from spontaneous, permanent failure to

display-respond to push of all letters in the second common row of letters: d f g h j k l . what?

Two Thoughts:

1. RESET YOUR SMC and NVRAM:

Reset the SMC

Reset the NVRAM


2. PERFORM A TIME MACHINE RESTORATION:

Do you have a Time Machine Backup usable for restoration prior to when this all began occurring? Creating a Time Machine Backup is ideal prior to restoring a Mac. And this is a pure case as to why. So, restore your Mac from a Time Machine Backup, if you have one.
