iPad touch screen

i was using my iPad one minute and then the next i am not able to do anything because the touch screen is unresponsive. have tried doing the resets and nothing is working. anyone have any ideas?

iPad, iOS 12

Do you use a screen protector?

I had this same problem too a couple of years ago. The screen was unresponsive, until I removed the screen protector. I'm not sure why it helped, but it worked.

i have done the reboot and I've also plugged it into iTunes for an update. so far no luck

Did you reboot your iPad?

Follow this procedure if you haven't:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Top button until the device restarts.
iPad with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Side (or Top) button and the Home button for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
