Bluetooth keyboard lag.

Hi. I have an iPad Mini 5 on iOS 12.3.1, and I use an Akko 3068 bluetooth keyboard with it. Most of the time the response time is very quick, but sometimes when I use the keyboard again, there’s a noticeable delay in the input to the iPad, making it almost useless. I usually resolve this by restarting the iPad. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

This is unlikely anything to do with the iPad itself. Some Bluetooth keyboards lag when connected. The keyboard may have a very old Bluetooth protocol. If you want one with no lag, you would be advised to look for one with Bluetooth 4.0 which is LE (Low Energy) and usually presents no lag whatsoever.

What I would recommend is when you're getting ready to type on the keyboard, just tap any key and wait about 10 seconds, then you should be ready to type without lag. Give that a try and see if it helps your situation.

Other options you could look at would keyboards from Logitech, Zagg or Brydge. But they'll be more pricey than you average Amazon made in China keyboard.
