Keeping personal hotspot “discoverable” (Always on)

I would like to keep my personal hotspot always on. At some point after I select the option to make the hotspot discoverable, it turns off.

Another way to ask the question is, what events cause the personal hotspot to change from discoverable to not discoverable? Is there a time out? Turning the phone off? Connecting the phone to a wireless network? Selecting Airplane mode?selecting Low power mode?

I do not believe you can make it permanently discoverable. According to the iOS manual for iPhone, it will turn off after some period of non-use:

”When you’re not using the hotspot, your devices disconnect to save battery life. For more information, see Share your iPhone Internet connection.”
