I have two libraries under my Pictures folder - iPhoto and Photos. Can I delete the old iPhoto Library? I an running Sierra on my Mac Will this save space on my HD

Have you verified that all of the photos in your iPhoto library are in your Photos library? If you have then you can delete the iPhoto library.
However, you won't save the full size that the Finder reports for the iPhoto Library. That's because it's sharing the same space on the hard drive as those photos in the Photos library via hard links. Here's more info on hard links:

If the library is listed at 80 GB you might save 10-15 GB (just a guess).

Awesome. Just what I was looking for. This confirms what I thought but wasn't confident in my assumptions All my iPhones are in my Photos. Thanks JRS
