quicken 2007

I'm still using quicken 2007 on my MacBook Pro with Sierra. 10.12.6

I have lots of investments. The cost bases go way back in time.

Does it work with High Sierra? Mojave? Catalina?

If not, what is a good replacement? Quicken 2019? Something else?

I'd stay where you are...

But...

1) You can continue to run Quicken Mac 2007 on a Mac running the Mojave operating system. ... That OS will only run 64-bit applications, which knocks Quicken 2007 out of the box. As long as you don't upgrade your Mac past Mojave, though, you can still run Quicken 2007 somewhat indefinitely.Dec 5, 2018

Update (July 2019)

macOS Catalina

The upcoming macOS update, Catalina, will be coming this fall. We have verified that Catalina will no longer support 32-bit apps.

  • Quicken 2007 is a 32-bit app and will not work on the next macOS update.
  • Converting your Quicken 2007 data to the latest version of Quicken will be difficult, as the Quicken 2007 conversion tool is also a 32-bit app and will not work with Catalina.

That phrasing is a little muddled. Mojave can run both 32-bit and 64-bit apps. It’s Catalina that has deprecated 32-bit apps. I suspect there was a reference to Catalina intended before the “That OS will only run 64-bit...” text.

As for staying on an older release in perpetuity, the bill for that does come due. Eventually. Inevitably.

As for Quicken alternatives...
