Notes action in share sheet crashes about 5 seconds into creating a note every time I try to use it! Also in the notes app itself, I sometimes loose the option to paste even though I have content on clipboard. Current iOS version = 12.3.1 (16F203)

UPDATE: I’ve attached an example of what a saved file shows up like via saving a PDF of this post to a note, you can see it as an attachment but there is no associated note...Reaching out to see if anyone else has this issue and might be able to share ideas on how to fix it? As you can see from the screenshots below, I am a VERY heavy user of the notes app across my iPhone, iPad, and Mac both for work and personal notes, so this is a major issue for me and causes me to waste a lot of time using manual workarounds!

I 1st noticed this problem about 6 months or so ago, right after updating to 12.1.

Essentially every time I try to save a note, (or add to an existing one), the share sheet action will only allow me to:

• Open up a new note or search for an existing note
• Start typing in text (either in the default new note, or in search bar)

Then within about 5-8secs the share sheet action will crash completely, taking me back to whatever content I was viewing beforehand without saving anything.

Interestingly, if I very quickly type something in or save a PDF/Pic to the default note that’s created, it WILL actually save the content,**sometimes**... However, when it does for some reason it saves to the “On this iPhone” section within my notes.

This is quite odd because #1, I do NOT have the “On My iPhone” option enabled, and #2 if I search thru all my notes visually I cannot find the saved Doc (or that section), but if I search for a keyword that was within the filename of the doc I can pull it up **sometimes**...

This is not the only unexpected behavior the notes app has exhibited;

I’ve also had issues with the paste function randomly not appearing even though I for certain have content on the clipboard, I’ve also had random crashes while in the middle of notes where I will lose everything.

As far as the paste function goes, it seems to happen more frequently when I am running multiple apps simultaneously, the crashing however seems to be completely random, sometimes occurring even after a fresh soft reset.

As for fix actions I’ve so far attempted:

• Soft resets
• Deleting and re-downloading Notes app from App Store
• Erasing all settings from device
• Full device wipe + “restore as new iPhone” option
• Hardware swap of device ( That was unrelated to this issue, but the problem persisted thru hardware replacement even after NOT restoring via backup!)

A soft reset will typically resolve pasting and crashing issues, however, none of these actions have fixed the share sheet crashing issue.

If you know ANYthing that might be useful PLEASE help me!! I do NOT want to have to switch to a 3rd party solution just because of this.
