New iPhone doesn't have my photos, but iCloud and my MacBook has them

I recently upgraded my phone, and all of my data and apps and such have transferred to my phone via the iCloud backup, except all of my photos and videos. I know that the photos and videos aren't linked with the iCloud backup but with iCloud directly. So I was wanted to know if this is just going to take a long time for my photos to be available on the new phone or if there's something I have to do to get them back? It's been about 8 hours since I transferred all my stuff to the new phone, so I was just curious about what to do next!

thank you!
