AppleCare

Can I purchase AppleCare even if it has been 1 year since purchasing my Mac?

Probably not.

If Apple let users buy it that late date, only Users with problems would buy it, and everyone would lose the "Insurance Effect" that some will have no claims, and that helps moderate the costs for all.

The OLD AppleCare could be purchased UP TO but not beyond the one-year mark.

New AppleCare PLUS (available at least in the US for several years) must be purchased within 60 days, sooner than your free telephone support runs out.
