I’m not sure why this keeps happening. My new recording will be saved as the location I’m recording at but that’s not the problem. Once I change the name, when I open the app again it will change back to the location. I can only save it if I press edit name and open close the app a few times.
If anyone knows how to fix this please help! I’m using the app for my lectures and this problem is troublesome!

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help with your Voice Memos. It sounds like your memos revert back to the location name.
Try turning off Location access and Location-based naming in Settings > Voice Memos. The recording will be saved as New Recording. Does the name revert to New Recording when you edit it?

Thanks for replying! I’ve turned location off and yes it does name it ‘New recording’ but it’s still reverting back once I edit it 😣😣 One time I tried editing a recording and did what I usually do but before I closed the app it just reverted right away. I’m certain my usual technique actually saves my edits (most of the time) because yesterday I forgot to open and close and now it’s back to ‘New Recording’ ☹️
