Adding member to a group text / iMessage

I have a group text on my iPhone X. I want to add a member. I saw an article that says to tap the top of the group message, select (i), name the group and click on the (+) to add members. I'm not getting these options. What does that mean? What am I missing? I'm on an iPhone X running iOS 12.3.1.
