Connecting iRig2 to Macbook Pro

I recently purchased iRig2 interface to play my guitar through but I'm having problems using it with GarageBand. Although I plug it in I cannot see it as an input or output. When I check the sound preferences I see that the computer identifies it as headphones. I've used a kind splitter to use mic and headphone inputs but it did not work. Is it possible to use iRig2 this way? If yes, how? Thank you.

Hello SametSahin,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that your MacBook Pro doesn't recognize your iRig 2 as an input or output device. I would be happy to help point you towards a resolution.

I suggest taking a look at the following iRig 2 Specs page, to confirm that your devices meet compatibility requirements:

IK Multimedia - iRig 2

To ensure that your guitar and iRig 2 has been connected with a supported configuration, follow the steps here:

iRig 2 User Manual

Cheers!
